One of this Archive’s principal aims is the precise location of the sites of all Buffalo Bill’s British venues but
so far as the twenty-nine 1904 Scottish venues are concerned, this task has largely been accomplished. Some retain
their former identities, whilst most have long since disappeared, consigned to oblivion by urban expansion and
buried under non-descript housing estates.

This street now lies at the heart of the former Third Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers drill ground, which
provided the Glasgow venue for the show during the first week of August 1904. It requires a considerable leap of
imagination to appreciate that Lakota Indians once camped on, or very near to, this exact spot.

Market Muir, Forfar, in common with South Inch, Perth, is one of a select minority of Scottish venues remaining
essentially unchanged since the time of the 1904 tour. Buffalo Bill’s entourage visited Forfar on Tuesday,
23rd August of that year.

This is a modern view of South Inch public park, Perth. Buffalo Bill’s show appeared here for one day only, on
Monday, 5th September 1904. The large expanse of flat grassland is precisely what would have made this
location an ideal choice of venue.
